The Azure Managed HSM (Hardware Security Modules) team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Manager to help us achieve our vision. Our team is dedicated to creating groundbreaking technologies that empower customers to protect their most valuable assets using some of Azure's most secure hardware infrastructure. With Azure Confidential Computing technologies, customers have complete control over key access and management policies. This service is fully managed, ensuring high availability and robust security guarantees. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years software development experience in a product group

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience managing and leading product teams
  • Demonstrated design and development experience with distributed programming models

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of security technologies is highly desirable

  • Prior experience in building large-scale distributed systems 
  • The ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment is critical to success
  • Ability to multitask while balancing short-term and long-term needs is essential
  • Passion for building and designing hyper scale systems
  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced software engineering manager to lead a team of engineers developing security features and services for the Azure platform around Hardware Key Management. The candidate should be an independent self-driven and hands-on manager with a proven track record running high scale services with a Livesite-first mindset, experience leading successful teams with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across the company, a passion for driving engineering cultures, and an excellent track record managing and growing/coaching engineers.
