Overview

The Director of Communications will oversee the internal communications strategy, including written leadership communications and team forums such as All Hands, Open Forums, AMAs, and Q&A sessions. This role will also partner with our PR lead who manages external communications.  

 

As a Director of Comms, you will enable the Leadership Team to focus on strategic initiatives by managing day-to-day internal communications and operational effectiveness for the org. Through collaboration with your global partners, you will create clear policies and guidelines for a high-performing global studio operations team. This position offers the opportunity to develop and exercise your operational and business management skills, lead internal and external communications, and partner with key team members to achieve strategic and tactical alignment, ensuring efficient support for the all levels of the org. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years’ work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of project and business management, people management and driving internal and external communication ROB with proven results and experience in a large-scale Global Entertainment organization.   
  • Demonstrate successful development of strategic solutions, enable execution of initiatives and operate at different altitudes with stakeholders across several organizations when required 
  • Experience leading and executing projects in a complex organizational environment and working on several diverse projects at the same time  
  • Maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments and excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity  

 

Business Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.

Responsibilities

Support the Chief of Staff  

  • Extend the leader's influence by developing relationships with key staff and partners across the company 
  • Collaborate with these partners to execute strategy and goals, including setting key goals, priorities, and definitions; fostering team culture and health; managing communications; and overseeing management and talent planning. 
  • Serve as a discussion partner for important and difficult decisions, ensuring global consistency, fairness, and a strategic viewpoint. 
  • Maximize the leader's time to drive progress towards business priorities. 

Drive Strategic Planning and Operational Execution 

  • Utilize a data-centric approach to create clarity for operational excellence, enabling the scaling and continual evolution of our people experience operations. In partnership with stakeholders and leaders, establish and drive global decision-making and alignment. Additionally, be an expert in crafting clear, precise, and meaningful communications, processes, and rhythms for both internal and external audiences. 
  • Lead and manage a team of program managers who oversee internal comms and forums, people experience, and culture programs. Deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. 

Operations & Communications 

  • Partner with leadership to create communications and clarity around strategy, vision, and objectives. Own the planning and execution of communication strategy and speaking engagements to ensure successful and impactful use of leadership time. 
  • Partner with the leadership team to align on studio rhythm of business (RoB) and team rhythms. Connect, communicate, and participate in forums and share updates and learnings (e.g., Chief of Staff forums) to ensure our team is plugged into, contributing to, and facilitating cross-organizational activities. 
  • Plan and execute an internal and external communications roadmap for the organization. 

Organizational Health 

  • Understand the current global organization culture in partnership with our HR partners. Develop and empower employees with programs to engage and connect across a global workforce (e.g., onboarding new employees, strengthening community connections for the team.
